May 12--It must have been among the longest death scenes in political history, but a veil can now at last be drawn over Tony Blair's time in No. 10 Downing Street. Even though he is set to announce his resignation, this incurable thespian may stay on stage for a few more weeks. But to all intents and purposes, the Wagnerian tragedy starring A. Blair is now over. It is now time for Gordon Brown to take the stage.
