GAINESVILLE, Fla. _ Jai Lucas, the most coveted point guard recruit in the country over the past six months, announced Monday he'll attend Florida and play basketball for the Gators starting this coming season.
Lucas, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound senior at Bellaire High in Houston, chose Florida over Kentucky and Oklahoma State. He's the son of former NBA guard and head coach John Lucas.
"He's a Top 50 prospect who's going to have an outstanding college basketball career," scout.com national recruiting director Dave Telep said Monday in a telephone interview.
