EarthLink, AT & T and NextWLAN are reportedly the leading bidders for the Chicago's muni-Wi-Fi network. EarthLink promised to extend it to the suburbs. NextWLAN reportedly offered indoor wireless as well as the outdoor Wi-Fi system. Sprint has said that Chicago will be one of the test cities for its WiMAX service.
