Q: I HAVE A 2006 YAMAHA ROYAL STAR VENTURE 1300. WHEN STARTING IT COLD, I CAN HEAR THE HYDRAULIC TAPPETS WORKING. WHY DOES THE OWNER'S MANUAL SAY TO HAVE THE VALVE CLEARANCES CHECKED AT 26,000-MILE INTERVALS WHEN THE BIKE HAS HYDRAULIC VALVE ADJUSTERS? I HAVE HAD MANY MOTORCYCLES WITH HYDRAULIC VALVE LASH ADJUSTERS AND NEVER HAD TO HAVE THE VALVE LASH CHECKED.
