May 12--Hidden by a dropped ceiling installation during a 1960s renovation, the old stained-glass windows on the second floor of Schaeffer Center hadn't been seen in 40 years.

"If these walls could talk," said Chuck Huber, director of administration and facilities at the church.

Schaeffer Center, one of five buildings on the Evangelical Lutheran Church campus on East Church Street, was built in 1890, between Church and Second streets, when a small Revolutionary War cemetery was dug up and moved.
