May 15--What do Buckeye candies, creamed corn, the tradition of making pork sausage, hot shredded chicken sandwiches, and sauerkraut balls have in common? They are all part of the foodways of Northwest Ohio.
"Foodways are all the ways involved in making food memories," says Lucy Long, Bowling Green State University professor and director of the Northwest Ohio Foodways Traditions project which is accompanying a Smithsonian traveling exhibit through June 10.
