May 15--Grady Sizemore has yet to catch fire at the plate. His .239 batting average is not where he or Indians manager Eric Wedge wants it to be.
But thanks to his versatility, Sizemore has not been the drain on the offense that his average might indicate. Sizemore's productivity at the plate is down, but when he gets on first base, he pushes the envelope to reach second, stealing 12 bases without getting caught.
That puts him way ahead of the pace of last year, when he stole 22 bases in 26 attempts. If he continues to steal bases at his current rate, Sizemore's total will top out at 55.
