For decades, it has struggled to come out of the shadows of Los Angeles (LA), its more famous neighbor in Southern California. In fact, even Disneyland, its most popular attraction, has always been mistaken as LA's own.
But with sheer determination to develop itself as a premier destination, and partly due to the popularity of the TV show ''The O.C.'', Anaheim/ Orange County has emerged on top of the US travel market, attracting about 44.9 million people from around the world in 2006, earning 8 billion in receipts from lodging, dining, shopping, entertainment and transportation.
