I've talked before about the importance of getting enough vitamin D to prevent osteoporosis, colds, and the flu. But this hormone we call the "sunshine vitamin" does much more. Recent studies indicate that vitamin D is protective against sunburn and neurological conditions, such as Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis. It can also prevent memory losses as we age.
