ARRESTS of terror sus-pects in Birmingham have sparked a project to stop the spread of Muslim extremism in the city.
City council officials and police have been handed pounds 525,000 by the Government to come up with measures to prevent violent, extremist views taking root in Bir-mingham's inner city communities.
They will target religious centres, youths and the media in a bid to win the hearts and minds of a small minority of young Muslims who may be attracted to violent groups.
