According to "Jordan Times", plans for the $1.4 billion Ayla Oasis are on schedule with work on the first phase of the tourist resort to begin by the third quarter of this year, a company official said. Managing Director of Ayla Oasis Development Company Sahl Dudin said plans are going ahead for the mega- tourist resort on the northern shores of Aqaba, with bids from the nine international consortiums that were pre qualified for this phase. According to the managing director, the company will be evaluating these tenders over the coming two to three months and will announce the winner in the third-quarter of this year with work set to begin in September or October.
