It's Mother's Day. What stands out about Mom? What was great about her?
"She was more of a friend when my friends were over than a mom," said Cheryl Urban of Wheaton, who works at Valley Community Bank in downtown Geneva. "It was neat." Don't mistake being "friendly" with being a pushover or a parent who was afraid to be a parent, however. "She'd give me that 'look,' and I knew when to stop," confirmed Urban.
"My mom was a stay-at-home mom and she was a GREAT cook," said Urban's co-worker, Marsha Gibbons of Batavia. "Roasts, cookies, pies - I didn't take after her, unfortunately."
