May 16--Track fans will have to clear at least one hurdle when they attend the state championship meet this weekend: heavy traffic.
Road congestion is nothing new to people who have attended state meets at Omaha Burke High School, but construction on West Dodge Road has police and city officials anticipating longer backups than normal during the meet Friday and Saturday.
"When we normally have six lanes open to handle traffic, we're going to have two or four," said Todd Pfitzer, city traffic engineer. "There's not much we can do about that."
Past state meets have drawn an estimated 12,000 to 14,000 ...
