May 17--Yuba County jurors found Michael Huggins guilty Wednesday of voluntary manslaughter -- not first-degree murder -- in the deaths of Christopher Hance and Scott Eugene Davis.
The jury of eight men and five women jury took five days to reach the verdict, which apparently left attorneys and relatives on both sides less than happy.
Huggins showed no obvious emotion as a court clerk read the verdict.
Huggins shot Hance, 21, and Davis, 19, with a .45-caliber pistol on Sept. 27, 2005.
Prosecutors said he wanted to steal their marijuana. Huggins claimed he wanted only to buy some and acted in self-defense.
