Nearly 15 years ago, local firms got a new source for information: the San Diego Business Journal.

The weekly newspaper was the seventh in a series launched by Cordovan Corp. Its mission was to give business leaders news tailored to their needs.

Much has changed since the paper's June 16, 1980, inaugural issue. San Diego is a bigger, more cosmopolitan city, and the Business Journal itself has grown to keep up with the news.
