Article: Fire on South Mountain 'suspicious,' authority says: Blaze from earlier this week remains under scrutiny.

Byline: Chris Pollock

May 17--Police detectives examining Monday's South Mountain fire so far have stopped short of openly calling it arson, but are continuing their investigation.

"It's definitely suspicious," Lower Saucon Township police investigator Chris Leidy said Wednesday of the fire. "It does appear as though it was started [deliberately]."

Leidy questioned a Fountain Hill man Monday who was at the fire scene when firefighters and police arrived.

"He stated that he was walking through the woods, observed a fire and attempted to put it out," Leidy said.
