Seve Letarte might be the best crew chief you've never heard of. You'll hear plenty about him this season as Jeff Gordon chases some lofty milestones. If he gets them-no, when he gets them-Letarte will be there helping Gordon with his cummerbund and tie.
You don't know much about Letarte because he is not as high-profile as some other NASCAR crew chiefs. He's not as famously "creative'' as Chad Knaus (Jimmie Johnson's chief). His driver isn't yappy like Greg Zipadelli's (Tony Stewart). He doesn't have championships like Robbie Reiser (Matt Kenseth) and Jimmy Fennig (who won the Cup with Kurt Busch and is now chief for David Ragan). ...
