May 19--NORTH CANTON -- The Walsh University baseball team needed a "cowboy" on the mound to make school history.
Senior pitcher Kyle Lynn, known as "Cowboy," overcame a rough start to lead the host Cavaliers to a 4-3 victory over Fisher (Mass.) College in the NAIA East Coast Super Regional on Friday.
Walsh (28-28) advances to the NAIA College World Series for the first time. The Cavaliers' opponent Friday in Lewiston, Idaho, will be determined when the rest of the eight-team field is set and seeds are awarded.
The Cavaliers defeated Fisher (33-16) in Game 1 of the best-of-three series Thursday.
