May 19--A feud between the Erie County control board and the Giambra administration intensified Friday over the best way to recover millions of dollars in unpaid taxes.
The Erie County Fiscal Stability Authority continued to block part of a contract pushed by the administration to sell 2006 tax liens to Xspand, a New York City company.
While the panel approved most of the contract to sell Xspand county liens between 2003 and 2005, administration officials argued that the "piecemeal approach" jeopardizes a deal that would make millions for the county and blow a hole in its budget.
