It was a season for the ages, one that would change the destinies of a player certain to go down as one of the all-time greats and a franchise already established as the all-time great.
Then came May.
The Yankees' Alex Rodriguez got himself more headlines than Brad and Angelina over the first month of the season as he hit homers faster than anyone else, posted Hack Wilson-esque RBIs, and announced he also was running in the Kentucky Derby, since winning just one Triple Crown still wouldn't make him worth the $22.7 million he'll earn this season.
