May 21--It was deja vu all over again.
Italy's Andrea Gabrieli successfully defended his men's open singles and doubles championship at the International Paper Cup Tennis Tournament Sunday at the City Park Tennis Complex.
Gabrieli rode a fireball serve and pinpoint shot placement in the 28th annual event sponsored by The Pueblo Chieftain, to defeat Juan Carlos Wynter in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-0 in the men's open final.
"This might have been the best performance of my life," said Gabrieli, who is from Bergamo, Italy. "I only had two or three mistakes the entire match."
