German antimonopoly agency allows JV to convert A320 planes
BERLIN. May 21 (Interfax) - Germany's antimonopoly agency (Bundeskartellamt) on May 16 granted permission to Russia's Irkut Scientific Production Corporation (RTS: IRKT) and United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) as well as the Airbus concern and European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) to set up a joint venture to convert A320 passenger planes into cargo planes.
An agreement on the joint venture was signed in October 2006.
The first phase of the project is to see the conversion of an average of 30 A320 and A321 planes annually. Production is to start in 2010. The joint venture ...
