Windows system files added to Norton virus list causes massive system collapses
Shanghai. May 21. INTERFAX-CHINA - Two Microsoft Windows system files were mistakenly added to Norton's virus list Friday, leading to system failures of thousands of computers in China after the files were quarantined by Norton.
Shortly after "black Friday" swept through China, Symantec Co., the developer of Norton Anti-virus software, confirmed the mistake took place in an update of its virus pool on midnight Friday.
