A MAJORITY of voters believe that stamp duty reform should apply to everyone and not just first-time buyers, as Fianna Fail is proposing.
A total of 57pc of the electorate feel proposed stamp duty reductions should also apply to all home owners wishing to trade up or down, a poll by Millward Brown-IMS has found.
The Fine Gael/Labour proposal aims to encourage downsizing in particular, in order to provide more homes for young families.
Over a third of voters believe the reductions in stamp duty should apply solely to first-time buyers (37pc). At least 6pc don't know, or have no opinion.
