As support for the bill wanes, proponents grasp for votes
SACRAMENTO, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Recent amendments made to Assembly Bill 374 do nothing but highlight the inadequacies of any assisted suicide legislation. In fact, these new amendments seem to call on doctors to sign a virtual death certificate by notating on a prescription that the patient has a prognosis of three months or less. While this new amendment has questionable privacy implications, it once again underlines the point that Assisted Suicide is as much about health-care cost as anything.
