Uptown may not be what it was a decade ago, but the Minneapolis neighborhood still has enough edginess to land one of the nation's hottest clothing chains.
American Apparel Inc., a clothing manufacturer and retailer known for its tight-fitting T-shirts and racy advertisements, will open a 4,200-square-foot store at W. Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue S. by August.
