May 23--AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- A favorite Mike Brown defensive mechanism after games is to defer judgment on certain issues until after he has reviewed game video.
This is an age-old coaching tactic. In part, it's to give a more complete answer, and in part, it's a way of dodging a pressing question creatively.
Brown's DVD review of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, a 79-76 loss to the Detroit Pistons, gave him a new understanding of his team's offensive woes.
