May 23--At Boston's Gardner Museum, live nasturtiums are the main attraction of a fresh floral display in its magnificent central court every April but also can be found year-round beyond the show of horticultural arts. They can be found in some paintings and tapestry, too.
But they're also center-plate attractions in displays of edible culinary art, as practiced at The Gardner Cafe within the museum.
Chef Peter Crowley features them in foods he serves because, he says, "These beautiful flowers give foods incredible visual appeal and their peppery flavor, reminiscent of watercress, spices up spring and summer foods."
