May 23--Alamance County is now home to a visitation center for the safe supervision of children and their families with domestic violence problems.
Tuesday was the ribbon cutting for the center, located at 142 S. Lexington Ave. in Burlington, in the basement of the current Family Abuse Services center.
The main purpose of the visitation center is to offer monitored exchange services and supervised visitation.
Family Abuse Services Executive Director Joy Ciriano said the agency has been trying to establish a visitation center for some time.
