ANAHEIM - Opportunity didn't so much knock for the Dodgers on Friday night as it tried to bash in their front door with a battering ram.
But time and time again, the Dodgers managed to turn it away like some annoying magazine salesman, never missing a chance to run themselves out of an inning, leave runners in scoring position or allow a less-than-dazzling Ervin Santana to wriggle off the proverbial hook.
All with an occasional assist from plate umpire Ron Kulpa.
