HAVING a handicap of 19, going on 18, Elaine Underwood is a tough match for some of the keenest golfers. It's determination that got her there, and to where she is today in her career. Underwood (pictured), an RHM graduate recruit just 14 years ago, took over the helm of its [pound]37 m-a-year J A Sharwood business in January.
The buyout of the RHM Group by Tomkins in 1992 has not affected Sharwood in terms of staff cutbacks, which cannot be said for some of its sister companies. But as managing director Underwood has her work cut out -- shareholders are still looking for results.
