May 24--Buffalo School Superintendent James A. Williams, saying he is "on a mission," Wednesday evening received a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the helm of the city school system until July of 2011.

"We have concluded the evaluation process for the superintendent," said Florence D. Johnson, the board president. "We found his work exemplary, and we have agreed to extend his contract for two years."
