Verbatim Corporation and Sanyo Laser Products, Inc. have announced plans to form a joint venture that will offer full-range CD-ROM and CD audio services. Having signed a letter of intent, the two companies have said that they expect their partnership to expand Sanyo's Richmond, IN, CD plant into one of the largest independent CD-ROM and CD audio producers in North America.
Sanyo's plant, which has been producing CD audio products since 1986, offers state-of-the-art manufacturing and pressing, sales and service operations. Its capacity will be expanded with an undisclosed amount of cash contributed by Verbatim, which will also add its optical disc technology as ...
