May 25--Sand, surf and memories brought Nederland native Pete Gregory, 58, back to the Bolivar Peninsula this week.
Gregory, now a planner for the city of Aurora, Colo., came south this week for his daughter's high school graduation near Houston and decided to camp on the beach, like he did many times while in high school and college in Southeast Texas.
"It's improved 100 percent," Gregory said of the cleaner beaches.
Gregory is just one of those who will come to Bolivar beaches this summer and almost quadruple the peninsula's population, according to residents and business owners.
