The California Association for HPERD believes adapted physical education is one of the program options available to students with disabilities who are eligible for special education. Direct service Adapted Physical Education is provided by a credentialed Adapted Physical Education specialist to students who have needs that cannot be adequately addressed in other physical Education programs. In addition to Adapted Physical Education, other service delivery options include Adapted Physical Education collaboration and Adapted Physical Education consultation, specially designed physical education, modified physical education, and general physical education.
