May 23--County planners anticipate each new job in Fort Detrick's expansion could mean two new jobs off-post, potentially adding more than 4,200 employees to the area's work force.
State and county officials acknowledged Tuesday that the additional jobs off-post from support services and contractors could add to the demands on roads, schools, housing and water use.
Fort Detrick officials said many of the new off-post jobs could be filled by people who already live in Frederick but are now commuting to Washington.
