May 24--With its 2006 annual report still glossy from the printer, the Savannah Economic Development Authority outlined last year's accomplishments at its annual luncheon Wednesday and talked a little about its philosophy. The accomplishments: $372 million in investment by new and expanding businesses and 1,679 new jobs.

The philosophy: Be great rather than big.

SEDA president Rick Winger explained SEDA's efforts to bring in not just any jobs, but good jobs.

"We're thoughtful and strategic about what kind of businesses and wages we want to attract to Savannah," Winger told the group.
