With the recent opening of the VolgoBalt system to the north, the summer river navigation season has finally opened for all of Russia, albeit with more of a whimper than a bang, as trading sources have not heard of any major activity so far. Officials at the Petersburg Oil Terminal expect the first river shipment to arrive at the port at the end of this week or, at the latest, the start of next week.
Industry sources say that it remains unclear what kind of floating storage season St. Petersburg will have this year, as the top traders have yet to bring in tankers. Questions about whether TNK-BP will send any significant volumes of oil to the Petersburg port have ...
