If you find yourself in need of someone to snuggle this Valentine's Day, there arc some magazines that would be glad to help. They're singles magazines--essentially catalogs of men and women eager to meet their mates--and they occupy an increasingly popular bar stool in the world of consumer publishing.
Generally run by small staffs with little or no previous publishing experience--and produced with very little advertising--singles magazines rely heavily on circulation and the 900-numbers readers dial to learn more about the eligible bachelors and bachelorettes featured in each issue.
