Money to be used to help redevelop contaminated land
The Cuyahoga County Planning Commission plans to ask the county to contribute to a $20 million redevelopment fund for environmentally contaminated properties.
Virginia Aveni, manager of environmental programs for the planning commission, said the fund was a key recommendation of the Brownfields Working Group, a committee of people from business, government, academia and environmental groups that convened two years ago to create a plan to redevelop contaminated properties. The group issued its list of recommendations for dealing with contaminated properties in August 1993.
