Swiss health spa and medical centre Clinique La Prairie has filed a lawsuit against the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company alleging dilution, damage to reputation and trademark violation.
The suit, filed with the New York State Supreme Court, claims the hotel group is improperly profiting from "the name, goodwill and reputation" of the Montreux-based clinic.
Ritz-Carlton operates a spa at its flagship hotel in New York under the banner La Prairie at the Ritz-Carlton Spa, which uses Beiersdorf-owned La Prairie products.
The lawsuit calls for an injunction forbidding Ritz-Carlton from using the La Prairie name for the spa, from referring to Clinique La ...
