A preliminary awareness study of tobacco issues among college students.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to collect preliminary awareness and opinion data from students at a large Midwestern university regarding personal tobacco use, patronage to smoke-free establishments, and support for policies and ordinances prohibiting the use of tobacco on university grounds. Results of logistic regression analyses indicated gender and smoking status to be significant predictors for perceived impact of the smoking ordinance on respondents' patronage to local establishments.
