Article: Behavioral outcomes of urban college students' alcohol use.(Survey)

Abstract: This study examined drinking patterns and related behavioral outcomes among 1,296 urban college students using a cross-sectional survey research design. Univariate analysis, chi-squares and t-tests were used for analysis. Alcohol consumption was significantly influenced by gender, age, race, marital status, and academic major. Males were more likely than females to have driven a car after drinking, and arts and science majors were significantly more likely than were education and business majors to have attempted suicide.
