May 28--Get it through your thick skulls: Skulls really aren't that thick.
In fact, they're very fragile things. You and your children need to wear bicycle helmets.
That may be a bit harsh, but it's not even summer and at least six bicyclists have already been hit by cars in Spokane County.
Earlier this month a young cyclist was hit by an impaired driver at Belt Street and Wabash Avenue in Spokane. That bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, remains hospitalized with severe head trauma.
The day before, a child riding a bike was hit by a car at Dakota Street and Baldwin Avenue. The driver was traveling ...
