SAN MATEO, Cal.--Electronic Arts, the interactive entertainment company and publisher of children's educational CD-ROM titles including Electronic Arts 3D Atlas, has acquired Bullfrog Productions Ltd., a European interactive game developer. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Bullfrog is Electronic Arts' third acquisition in three years and reflects the company's long-term strategy of investing in development and creative talent. Electronic Arts acquired Origin Systems Inc. of Austin, Texas, in 1992; it is a developer of entertainment software, including such titles as Wing Commander and Ultima.
