Experienced hand joins from recent rival

Melrose Resources has appointed oil industry veteran David Thomas as its new chief executive. Mr Thomas was most recently the chief operating officer of Centurion Energy, a Canadian company that was outbid by Melrose for Egyptian assets last year. Recent drilling results show that Melrose is now on track with developing these assets.
