Born in 1936 in the Havanese neighborhood of Jesus María, the distinguished pianist/composer/ arranger/producer/bandleader Alberto Javier Vázquez Lauzurica (better known in the music world as Javier Vázquez) studied, back in the late 1940s and early 1950s, at the Conservatorio de Música de La Habana and at the Academia Musical de Perreyaide.
