May 30--The decision whether all kindergarten students in Fort Wayne Community Schools will be able to attend school for a full day next year lies with the school board.
Board members heard a presentation from Superintendent Wendy Robinson during a work session Tuesday evening that detailed how full-day kindergarten could affect the district financially and academically.
"There should be no reason to do anything if we don't think it's going to have a positive impact on student achievement," Robinson said. "A full day is needed to teach full-day standards."
