May 30--Jordan Palmer will be home on paid administrative leave for at least the next week while the man he shot lies in a hospital bed in critical condition.
That's department protocol for any New Haven Police officer who fires their weapon at somebody, just as Palmer did Monday morning when he shot 38-year-old Jeffrey Bottorf in the chest during a domestic battery investigation at Bottorf's house in the 2500 block of Sunnymede Drive.
According to police, Bottorf confronted officers as they spoke to the alleged battery victim before going into his house to get a gun. He came back out, pointed the gun at his head and then ...
