Just as offsets can be entered by program command, most current model CNC controls also allow parameters to be set in a similar manner. While applications may not be readily apparent, there are several times when knowing this is possible can really help.
G10 is a commonly used G-code for programmable data setting. While this command is more commonly used for setting offset data, most controls which use G10 also allow parameter data to be changed with the G10 command. Check in your control manufacturer's manual to find out if you have this command and how it works.
